ATLANTA – Parents and other volunteers feeling overwhelmed by the prospect of managing a school or youth group fundraiser can ease their stress by tapping the numerous resources available on the newly redesigned website of the Association of Fund-Raising Distributors and Suppliers.
The AFRDS website – www.afrds.org – has been providing parents, teachers, and principals tips and information about how to pull off a successful fundraiser for years. Now the website has a new look, and it’s even easier to use.
The website’s Fundraising Toolbox contains several items to help volunteers make sound fundraising decisions. Here’s some of the information available at www.afrds.org:
- Questions to ask a fundraising company before hiring them;
- Details to watch for when signing a contract;
- Money handling tips; and
- Suggestions for workplace fundraising
The AFRDS website also provides answers to nearly a dozen of the most frequently asked questions about fundraising – and contains the most up to date statistics on the fundraising industry.
The Association of Fund-Raising Distributors and Suppliers is an international association of more than 600 companies that manufacture, supply and distribute products that are re-sold by not-for-profit organizations for fundraising purposes. AFRDS members ascribe to the association's Code of Ethics and Standards for Professional Practice.
